Gratitude through Yoga

At Yogayew we believe giving gratitude through yoga is important when practicing yoga in our classes either in nature or in a studio in Daylesford or in the Hepburn shire.

Wikipedia defines Gratitude as:

Gratitude, thankfulness or gratefulness, from the Latin word gratus "pleasing, thankful", is a feeling of appreciation felt by and/or similar positive response shown by the recipient of kindness, gifts, help, favors, or other types of generosity, to the giver of said gifts.

We at YogaYew like to incorporate gratitude in our yoga practice in Daylesford. We do this during our child pose with our eyes closed, connecting with our breath, and connecting with what we're grateful for. Obviously, the most obvious thing we should be grateful for is the ability to practice yoga in such a beautiful location as Daylesford and the Hepburn Shire. Secondly what we should also be grateful for is having a body that allows us to do Yoga, what a privilege to be blessed with a body that allows us to do Yoga.

Other ways we incorporate Yoga into our practice is:

Appreciating every moment

Appreciating the nature

Counting our blessings while counting our breath

Being grateful for all experiences regardless if they are "good" or "bad" and realizing the teachings

Being grateful for the ability to take time out and practice yoga
